Warning Against the Teachers of the Law

Luke 20:45 While all the people were listening, Jesus said to his disciples, 46 “Beware of the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. 47 They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely.”

They enjoy their place in the scheme of things. They're in control. They know more than anyone else. They are so "all knowing" and intelligent that they can convince even Jesus that they are right while they continue to take from the poor and put on a show. They can do it all.

Right?

This levels an attack against the fiefdoms and the kingdoms of the perverse of heart who take refuge in and abuse the "cloth" and the "church" they have created. Make no mistake, the warring sectarians are driven by their own interests, not by the will of God. No, it is not my place to suppose or apply the will of God regarding anyone, but the Holy Spirit causes falsehood to stand out when other things ring true. Where there is lack of unity, satan wreaks havoc.
