No, this is not about squirrel stew gravy.
For the past week I've seen this squirrel in my yard that is missing some fur along it's back and sides. It has at least 5 quarter-sized (or larger) tumors where most of the fur is missing. The tumors are not oozing, nor does the bare skin look damaged. I just saw it drinking from my birdbath so I got a better look at it today than yesterday. I don't have a pic yet.
I've seen zillions of squirrels but never one like this. I've researched squirrel diseases and couldn't find anything that looked like what this squirrel has. Right now, I'm concerned that whatever it has might be contagious and either Mr. Bear or the birds might get it. Other than the lack of fur and the lumps it acts as normal as the other squirrels in the yard.
I need help from the nutty animal kooks... will you come get my squirrel and take him to the freak show, please.
