I know nothing about mac's but I would assume the battery has gone bad. It may bed covered on your warranty. Call the place where you got it and see if it is, if so no sweat!

Yea thats what I was going to do because I have a warranty on it, it just came out of no where and didnt know if there was something else.

With the laptop shut off, try removing the battery, then plugging in the laptop to line power. Start it up on line power only, then shut it down. Remove the line cord. After it's shutdown, snap the battery back in and plug it back in.

This has worked on a few different PCs, maybe it will help yours. You might have a defective battery. Take it back to a Mac store and let them diagnose it.

Take is to an Apple store... If the first line techs can fix it on the spot, you'll have it back that day before you leave the Mall.

When I was working there, a customers screen went out and they replaced it.

My MacBook Pro is running awesome!!!! I am happy as a fat kid in a candy store about getting my Mac. I've had my Mac for over a year and my battery life is awesome. I can be surfing on the internet (wireless), have the screen at full brightness and listening to music; my laptop will last about 2.5-3 hours.

Reset the SMC

From Apple Support:

Over time, the settings in the System Management Controller may become unusable, which can result in operational anomalies with the computer. Examples include not turning on, not waking from sleep, not charging the battery, or not recognizing the AC Adapter, among others.

1. If the computer is on, turn it off.
2. Disconnect the AC Adapter and remove the computer's battery.
3. Press and hold down the power button for 5 seconds and then release the button.
4. Reconnect the battery and AC Adapter.
5. Press the Power button to restart the computer.
