I've got a MacBook and its been running a little slow as of late. Does anyone know how I can clean it up (ie. defrag. etc)? I don't know much about them still (have had it over a year). I keep the computer updated all the time. I have installed and deleted a lot of items over the year. Any suggestions?

If we're talking OSX Tiger, Leopard etc, it's based on Unix and behaves nothing like Windows requiring defrag etc.

Go out to Apple's website and download the free Onyx maintenance utility. Have it run the cleanup features it has and see what that does?

Also, you need to run the disk utility to check for file permission problems and verify the disk for errors.
