Machine Shop

Looking for a machine shop locally that can handle a small job.

I need the removal of a broken off exhaust stud from my motorcycle's aluminum head. I would also like the head surface planed down a few thousandths. Willing to pay reasonable market price for work.

Any ideas of a shop that can handle this?

And no - an Easyout will not do the job.

You might try and call Speed Unlimited 301-420-2727. They are the only hotrod shop I can find around here. They are located out the front gate of Andrews Air Force base. They are not a machine shop but I bet they will know where a damn good machine shop is!!

Honestly, I'm looking for a competent machinist.

Removing this stud from the aluminum head is a tricky job.

Call Mr. Messner AM/PM shop off of Myrtle Point Rd, off of Rt. 4 St. Mary's side of the bridge.

Hayden Auto has a machine shop in the basement of the Great Mills Rd. store. Ask for Duncan.

You have alot of options in southern maryland. Up in waldorf is a place called advanced automotive, the owner bill is a great guy and does awsome work. You could also try reichard racing up in st. leonard, jim has alot of experience with doing tricky jobs. I dont trust speed unreasonable, overpriced, but thats with most custom shops in any place.

I love it when they call that place speed unreasonable. No clue how they stay in business with their mark ups. I needed a set of Mickey Thompson skinnies for my Camaro. Summit had them for 90 bucks a tire and SU had them for $140 each! Just sucked it up and waited for UPS to deliver.

Hayden's Machine Shop was closed last September when Fisher Auto Parts bought their company.

Fisher has a machine shop in Glen Burnie which any of the 4 local Fisher/Federated stores can send work to... Turnaround time is pretty quick.
