Just curious what type of gear do you folks use when shooting macro? I know there are many different approaches, so lets see who uses what.

Personally I only had a set of 52mm close-up filters that I infrequently used on my 50mm prime lens. Recently (today) picked up a similar set in 77mm so that I could try using the lenses I typically shoot with. Not sure I'm ready to plunk down the money for a "real" macro lens just yet.

Dude, not to make light of your camera stuff but I was outside tonight and took this pic with office camera and was like, WOW, I didn't know you could get this kind of detail of the moon.

Simple mind here brother! :coffee:

While I don't have an slr YET! I use a Raynox 250 Microscopic--without manual focus --I have to use the move back and forth method on a monopod---some use a plain ole stick.
Check out this guys stuff--he's from the uk--published and amazing...
LordV Macros- powered by SmugMug He's a mpe-65 and a sigma 105 user---I would assume with extension tubes. He has an article published on macro and focus stacking ---I can post the link if your interested.
