The White House had said the CDC was 'unable to find legal authority' to extend the moratorium

After the CDC could not find legal grounds to extend a moratorium on evictions that began early in the coronavirus pandemic, Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., is pushing the CDC to do it anyway.

President Biden announced Thursday that he was not going to try to extend the moratorium, calling on Congress to take action instead. Waters, who unsuccessfully tried to pass a bill, expressed skepticism that the CDC could not extend the moratorium as they had done in the past.

What "legal grounds" did the CDC have to enable any such moratoriums in the first place??

The Didn't .... but the CDC claimed evicting people would spread Covid as the homeless masses roamed the streets like the Walking Dead

ipsofacto under the guise of protecting Publiv Health The CDC Claimed a privilege

Maxine Waters Calls For CDC To Extend Eviction Moratorium: ‘Who Is Going To Stop Them?’

“I don’t buy that the CDC can’t extend the eviction moratorium – something it has already done in the past! Who is going to stop them? Who is going to penalize them? There is no official ruling saying that they cannot extend this moratorium. C’mon CDC – have a heart! Just do it!” Waters tweeted.

Of course, the CDC never had the authority to institute such a moratorium, as the Supreme Court decided in its “official ruling” saying that congress was where the power lay to extend the moratorium. As The Daily Wire reported on Monday, however, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) waited until the last minute to try to hold a vote on extending the moratorium. The Supreme Court’s decision was issued in June, finding the CDC’s moratorium was unconstitutional. The Supreme Court at that time gave Congress until July 31 to extend the moratorium through legislation. Pelosi did nothing until last week, just before the moratorium was set to expire.

:shocking:

Why wouldn't these people get welfare and Section 8 like they did before the "pandemic"? I don't understand this whole thing. Most landlords need the rent money to pay the mortgage on the house, so how are they going to do that if the overlords say tenants don't have to pay their rent?

So the home owner can't pay because the tenant isn't paying, and the house goes into foreclosure - is the bank going to let the tenant live there for free? Could this just be a ploy to eliminate property rights?
