Basically, it's a USB stick that you plug into your computer and it uses your Internet connection to provide a dial tone for about $20 per year. How are they able to offer this when other VoIPs, like Vonage, cost $20 per month?

I have one. It works alright, but the sound quality is not as good as a regular phone line or VOIP. It is quite acceptable for the price you pay. It also has low price overseas calling to some countries. You can also move it from PC to PC and take it with you when you travel.

There are some drawbacks such as your computer has to be on to use it, and the phone number selection is pretty sparse as far as areas you can get a phone number in. I chose a Las Vegas number which is kind of fun. People are always asking me what I am doing in Las Vegas as that is what the caller id shows.

It is a good value for $20.00 a year (plus $20.00 for the hardware.) I think that when I got mine the first years use was included in the price of the hardware if you bought a second years worth of service for $20.00

The ToS (Terms of Service) are pretty straight forward, but by signing up and installing the software, you are obligated to their advertising. They claim the device won't work if you don't accept the ads.

No thanks.
