You're probably looking at the SRM450's ProSound And Stage Lighting - Mackie SRM450 Powered Speaker 12-Inch 2-Way I've heard them and think they sound OK depending on the rest of the system. What do you plan on using them for? DJing? Home audio? I would say they sound "bright" (lots of hi and midrange) but OK if you're using a sub. On the plus side, you don't need an amp. On the minus side you not only have to run a speaker wire, but also an extension cord for each speaker. Over the years I've considered them but can't see spending $700 ea. for a 12" plastic speaker.

they are a touch cheaper now on ebay but I think i am just gona stick with my amp and something a little less extravagant. the little sub and satelites I have for my laptop actually are more than i need for home audio but I always want a little more:whistle:

Take a look at this link (has ratings): Musician's Friend - Search Results:coffee:

Did a search on that site for Klipsch and it brought up nothing. Huh? No Klipsch.

Klipsch Audio Technologies | The Ultimate Sound Experience

The La Scala I used to perform with are the best speaker systems I have ever heard. La Scala --- Floorstanding Loudspeaker - Klipsch Heritage Series

This is the new version. La Scala II --- Floorstanding Loudspeaker - Klipsch Heritage Series I haven't heard them.

Mackie speakers’ thermal shuts down when you drive them to hard. I know a few DJs that have blown a few of their Mackie Powered subs.

I own a pair of Yorkville NX55p, I like them a lot. They do get loud enough for the bands I work with; at least none of my bands complain about not being able to hear themselves.

I am thinking of switching to the QSC powered speakers, they get louder.

RCF has some nice speakers.
JBL PRX series has some good reviews.

Is Cerwin-Vega still in the speaker game?
