So how was it?

This park we're at in Fort Stockton has a little restaurant on premises and their specialty is chicken fried steak. In fact, CFS is apparently a big deal in south and west Texas in general. I have always been grossed out by it and had never had it...before tonight.

It was good, but still gross and it's unlikely I'll ever eat another one.
 
I love me a good chicken fried steak. But I always get the white gravy on the side. Hate when they goober it up so you don't even know what you're eating.

It was good, but still gross and it's unlikely I'll ever eat another one.
It was delicious! I think the next time I make it though, I may add just a little sherry or white wine to it. Very easy prep. I have never liked CFS! It always seemed tough and chewy. There are some terms that just dont go together, chicken fried and steak is one of them! IMHO.
