"CONCORD, N.H. -- A Concord man who helped an elderly couple escape from their burning home was arrested shortly afterward because of a scuffle with emergency workers.

Steven Rivers said he was sitting on his porch at about 2:30 a.m. Monday when he saw flames shooting from the house across the street, WMUR-TV in Manchester reported."

I dont see the big deal here. When a person becomes violent at the scene of an emergency, the reasons are not always readily visible. So they lock the guy up.

After reviewing the evidence if he was acting unconsciously ,I am sure he will be released and properly thanked.

People have a right to refuse medical treatment unless they are not in a right state of mind due to head injury or other medical condition. If they are not in the right state of mind enough to make a decision for themselves, then they are not criminally responsible for their actions anyway.
I would bet money charges will be dropped, and I would almost bet money charges are dropped before the court date.
