KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Jackie Shelton woke up to a front yard covered in snow. But hers was the only such one in town.

Her fiance, Stan Cooper, used an air compressor and pressure washer with some plastic piping and modified spray nozzle to make the yard a winter wonderland early Wednesday.

"Jackie loves snow and the beauty of snow," said Cooper. "I proposed to her on Christmas, and when I gave her the ring I told her I couldn't give her a white Christmas, so I gave her a little bag of artificial snow."

As the temperature dropped, Cooper, who works at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, decided he'd give her a surprise. He had made some prototype snow machines with a friend at the lab, and decided to try one out.

At 4 a.m., she heard some noise outside her house and found him at work. "She just shook her head and went back to bed," Cooper said.

"I thought he had lost his mind," Shelton said, "but he is so sweet."

 Awww...how sweet.
