The whole story really doesn't make sense to me.........why would he be holding a knife in a fashion that he could/would stab himself in the chest if he got burned. :shrug:

My guess would be that he may have been a novice in the kitchen.

I have the same questions. Didn't sound right to me either. I feel really sorry for his children and his fiancee. This is sad and very ironic.

Perhaps he had knife in hand pointing upward then grabbed a hot handle and jerked back. Only way I can see it happening. A stock pot would be at the right height. I watch way too much CSI. :whistle:

...is still the scene of most accidents and I would guess that a good many of them fall under the 'how in the heck did you do that?' category.
