If I call you an idiot, can I have a custom pool stick thingie and a camera too?migtig said:Thanks. I'll buy you a new custom pool stick thingie and a camera.
Only if I am THAT idiot that wins the lottery.ylexot said:If I call you an idiot, can I have a custom pool stick thingie and a camera too?
Deal! Heck, I'll even give you my old camera and teach you how to use it if you become that idiot.migtig said:Only if I am THAT idiot that wins the lottery.
I'm reading and I don't get this exposure thing.ylexot said:Deal! Heck, I'll even give you my old camera and teach you how to use it if you become that idiot.
It took me a while to figure out as well. Exposure is simply how much light hits the sensor/film. More light gives a brighter picture. There are three factors in exposure:migtig said:I'm reading and I don't get this exposure thing.
Man finds out he's an idiot...
Tonio ran screaming from his house upon learning that DoWhat was right about him all the time. The Forumite was last seen sitting on ashes while wearing sackcloth, along with a paper bag over his head. Upon learning of the news, Jazz Lady simply gave a big smile of justification. However, Vraiblonde shook her head ruefully, knowing that some people simply cannot be helped.

Shutter speed - if the sensor is exposed for a shorter duration, it is less exposed - simple
Aperture - the size of the hole that lets light in...bigger hole...more light...more exposure. The difficult part is that the number is an inverse...so, f/4 is bigger than f/8 and f/4 lets in more light/gives more exposure. Aperture also affects depth of field, but that's another topic.
ISO - this is how sensitive the sensor/film is to light...higher ISO=higher sensitivity=more exposed.
BTW, I still can't look at a scene and know what combination to use.
I thought this thread was about forestal. :shrug:Man finds out he's an idiot...
