Man loses 56 pounds after eating only McDonald's for six months

While applauding Cisna’s efforts to lose weight and improve his health, his McDonald’s diet is not realistic or reasonable for most people to follow long-term, said Elisa Zied, a registered dietitian nutritionist in New York and author of “Younger Next Week.”

Much of Cisna’s results have to do with cutting his calorie intake, so it’s not surprising that he lost weight and lowered his cholesterol, Zied said. But it’s likely his diet was high in sodium, low in fiber and not as rich in vitamins and minerals as it could be because it lacked a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and other nutrient-rich foods, she added.

“I personally would not recommend this to anyone,” Zied said. “Fast food can be part of a healthful, balanced and nutrient-rich diet but it… shouldn’t be a large part.”

Zeid doesn't know his diet, but only pisses all over the success story with her speculation

... but hey I get it, she should be out of a JOB if people figured it out on their own

I'm nosy and look at what other people have in their grocery carts. McDonald's is a nutritional improvement on a lot of what I see.

Yes, people should eat more fruits and vegetables, more whole grains and complex carbohydrates. But they're not going to. They want frozen pizzas and Kraft mac & cheese.

The folks who pay with food stamps, always have the best stuff in their carts.

Sure they do...with an average MONTHLY SNAP benefit of $250.46 in the state of Maryland, I can see why you would express the opinion that SNAP recipients ALWAYS have the best stuff in their carts. $250.46 allows one to spend recklessly and luxuriously...doesn't it?

Yep - it works out to a gallon of ice cream and a 2 liter bottle of soda a day. But that's OK. I choose not to live in the matrix plugged into a Government feeding tube.
