Way back when I was a technician at Purdue's rocket labs, I found an old gas-turbine powered lightweight field generator...milsurp..hiding in one of our storage buildings. It was crank started like those tanks....wore my ass right out getting the silly thin spinning to the "start" line on the tachometer. Got 'er running though!

All three used a Maybach V-12 gas engine. Very cool stuff.
True Sturmgeschütz III used the HL 120 and the Panther and the Tiger II used the HL 210 / 230
Interesting Engines .... the 120 was a 12 L V-12 the HL 210 was a 21 L and the 230 was a 23 L
