Dear Friends of Marlow Heights 60s and 70s:
“Nobody Bothers Me!”
Remember those Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do TV commercials, with the two little kids proclaiming, “Nobody bothers me!”? I believe at one time there was a Jhoon Rhee school near the 7-11 at Dallas Drive and St. Barnabas Road. I found a video for one of the commercials on You Tube:

I’ve had problems opening the video in Firefox, so unless you come up with a work around, just use Internet Explorer.
Charlie Watt’s Shop Class at Benjamin Stoddert Jr. High
Many a boy attending Stoddert took, “Shop”, and had Mr. Charlie Watt. A classmate of mine, Allen Ashby, submitted a photo of the desk table/lamp, and drinking glasses made out of old returnable soda pop bottles:

Existing, “Red Barn”, Restaurant in Wisconsin
Thefarm
I actually visited this ‘Barn in Wisconsin a few weeks ago, and it’s very obvious this was a former Red Barn. Not only that, but they’ve kept on many Red Barn menu items (I had the present day equivalent of a Barn Buster).

Speaking of class photos, I’d like to know if anyone out there that attended Sandymount has class pictures of any from the following:
1967-68 4th Grade class of Ms. Weiner
1968-69 5th Grade class of Miss Doyle
1969-70 6th Grade class of Mr. Rich
Recollections
Added a new page to the, “Recollections”, area. This is chock full of great, first person accounts of Marlow Heights and vicinity history growing up in the 60s and 70s.

Guest Book
We now have 270 entries in the Guest Book. This is a great place to read first person accounts of how it was back in Marlow Heights and vicinity during the 60s and 70s, as well as a means to possibly look up old friends and classmates.
