Cyber Cop
Dear Friends of Marlow Heights 60s and 70s,

Here are some of the latest additions to the Marlow Heights 60s and 70s web site:

I added links to a La Reine High School alumni/reunion page and the Bishop McNamara site. I still need old photos of all the schools in the area, so if you have anything to contribute please email me.

Added a photo link for Chason's LTD restaurant from an old magazine ad. Go to this page and click on the Chason's LTD link:

Local TV commercials from the 60s and 70s: I'm currently trying to find a source for copies and rights to publish old DC area TV commercials and TV station promos from the 60s and 70s on my site. These would be of the type we used to see, such as, "Ourisman Chevrolet", "White Cap", "Ralph Brown Buick Opel ("Noooooobody!")", "Mann's Potato Chips", or any others that were pure DC area 60s and 70s. I've contacted a couple of advertising agencies, but so far I haven't found anything yet. I'd really appreciate any suggestions or leads to make this happen.

Moving to Maryland! I am relocating within my company for a position in Bethesda, and will be in the area at the end of the month. Anyone with ideas on great communities to live in Montgomery County with the requisite good schools, I'd appreciate hearing from you. I initially considered Prince Georges County, too, but can't seem to find communities close to good to excellent schools and a reasonable crime rate. If you do, let me know. Also, Southern Maryland (Charles, St. Mary's, and Calvert counties) would be nice but too far from where I'll be working.

Marlow Heights Get Together? Since I'll be back in the area soon, I'd like to know if anyone would be interested in getting together for a cruise of the old haunts. We could start by grabbing a bite to eat at Steak in a Sack, cruising by the old neighborhoods, Iverson Mall, Marlow Heights and Hillcrest Heights shopping centers, schools and then take it from there. Considering everyone's schedules, this would probably have to be a Saturday or Sunday outing.

Dennis Grove Apartments: I lived there during the mid 60s and added a link to an apartment ratings site, which provides a sad tale of how badly the complex has turned.

Might Mo and Topps Drive-Ins: I added comments from Tommy, a site visitor and former resident, regarding the old Might Mo and Topps drive-ins. There's also a link to Tommy's site, which is a tribute to the Mighty Mo drive-in, Prince Georges County, the kids who grew up there, and a painting of the old Mighty Mo drive-in:

Whatever Happened To...?: has been updated with information on the happenings and whereabouts of your old friends and classmates:

Guest Book: Check out the Guest Book, as so far 68 people have signed in, and that number rises on a regular basis. If you look through the entries, you might see an old friend or classmate:

Finally, a note to those of you that might have felt I've slighted your old neighborhoods of Hillcrest Heights, Temple Hills, Suitland, Silver Hill, Oxon Hill, and beyond. When I created the web site, it initially started as the immediate area I grew up in, which was Marlow Heights. As the site grew and more people provided feedback, more information and photos were added related to surrounding areas. I also want to make it a special point to acknowledge one of the site's visitors, a long time resident of Hillcrest Heights, that Iverson Mall is, in fact, located within the confines of Hillcrest. Having said that, does anyone know where Marlow Heights ends and Hillcrest Heights begins? At any rate, this site is about ALL those places we collectively grew up in, not just Marlow Heights, and as it evolves, more and more information will be added from many more places. Just think of, "Marlow Heights 60s and 70s", as the site name and a place holder.

Keep the memories alive,
