Martha's Vineyard resident says migrants will 'luck out' and get more services than 'down south'

Joyce Dresser hopes to 'get some clothes together' for migrants 'because they're not dressed for New England'

The 50 migrants who landed on Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts last week were shipped off the island so fast one local resident was left lamenting she didn't have time to help.

"I wish that I had been more involved, that I had heard [about] it when it [the migrants' arrival on the island] originally happened," Joyce Dresser told Fox News Digital on Saturday as she sold books during a street festival in Oak Bluffs.

That island town is famous for its colorful "gingerbread house" Victorian homes.

Dresser said she learned of the newcomers' arrival only hours after they landed.

That expression when you feel so good virtue-signaling and there’s zero consequences to your own life. Ahhh, the proggie Nirvana.

Behind Closed Doors, Martha's Vineyard Liberals Reveal Their Hypocrisy

Plane towing a banner reading ‘Vineyard Hypocrites’ circles Martha’s Vineyard

A small plane towing a banner that read “Vineyard Hypocrites!” circled Martha’s Vineyard Monday morning for at least an hour, angering residents who turned out in droves after the unexpected arrival last week of two planes carrying nearly 50 migrants sent by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

The migrants were housed and fed at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Edgartown from Wednesday evening to Friday morning before they were brought to Joint Base Cape Cod in Bourne for temporary shelter.

The island’s response was praised as “herculean” by state Representative Julian Cyr, and Governor Charlie Baker and other state officials also commended the community effort.

“It’s fantastic that people keep wasting money,” restaurant owner JB Blau quipped on Facebook. “[DeSantis] never thought people would be shown compassion. He didn’t realize citizens were capable of it. That’s why they teed up the hilarious talking point that we booted them off, cause that’s what they expected. They’re not smart, but they are mean.”

One person put it plainly: “The island is being harassed for being kind?”

No you hysterical dolt! :lmao: You're being ridiculed for booting them off your island as fast as you could muster the National Guard, just as you were expected to, and your fake virtue isn't fooling anyone! :roflmao:

I figured they would hold a few back to trim the shrubs and cut the grass.
If they had been sent at the beginning of "the season" I'm sure they would have. Unfortunately "the season" is coming to an end and the diversity quota has already been met. I'm sure the residents and home owners wish it had been otherwise....

Mostly peaceful protests of 2020 - Trump suggests National Guard be called out. Leftist mayors and governors: "Oh, hellz no!"

Martha's Vineyard illegal invasion of 2022 - National Guard called out before the ol' inkjet is through printing the orders.

These people were told they could LIVE THERE. If you were given a free ticket to just live on Martha's Vineyard, do you think you might at least consider it? The people of Martha's Vineyard are "enraged" that they were "deceived" - indeed, who knew these wonderful loving people would kick them out so fast with a mere consolation prize?

It's a bit like being told you can live in the Ritz-Carlton, and the front desk smiles, hands you a fruit basket and sends you to the local jail to await instructions.

These people are incorrigible - they honestly believe they did GOOD.

I certainly cannot blame them for not wanting these law breakers, who haven't been vetted, who haven't been checked for medical problems, who could indeed be criminals or dope mules in their community. They just walked over and no background checks.
But I do have a problem with their previous comments, and hypocritical actions and votes to go along with democrats allowing his invasion. They ignore the problems in Texas and other States where these people are arriving by the thousands and they cry because they got 50.

This is why DeSantis sent them there and his action in doing so proves that the rich don't give a damn about the rest of America only their protected environs, where they can talk the talk and fail when it come time to walk the walk, and make these people welcome.

Its because they knew the rules the left has set up not evicting people during covid. If they gave those people a place to stay they could have refused to leave and the people there knew that.

Joyce Dresser says these illegal migrants "lucked out" and it's all thanks to Ron DeSantis !

She'll be in tears later when the local mob comes for her for praising DeSantis.
