He deserves to go to jail, but THIS sentence and what he was charged for are ridiculously stupid. Imagine the cops coming to the Turkey Shoot at Ridge Legion and arresting everyone there for the same thing.. and then sentencing them to 5 years becasue of federal gun crime.

Reading the article, he was guilty of this particular crime because he drove PAST a school while they were pursuing him.. WTF?? This is insane. There were at least a half dozen other crimes they could have convicted him of, but he gets 5 years for THAT??

This should concern everybody that lives in MD. Imagine a cop stopping everyone in front of Ridge Middle in the hopes of seeing a rifle or shotgun in the car. Oh, and having a Permit does not help you in this case.

Bob, did you not see he is a previously convicted FELON in a stolen car and the other points?

This is not Jed Clampett driving past Hooterville school.

Exactly, he broke enough laws they could send him to jail for life... but each trial, each offense is taken as a separate act.

He got 5 years for driving by a school with a gun in his car. Not for being a felon, not foe running from the police.. not for being a felon in possession of a gun..

It could have easily been Jed Clampett, if they want it to be.
