Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. yesterday pardoned 10 who were convicted of crimes, including a Baltimore man released from prison last year after his murder conviction was overturned by a judge who said his trial had been unfair.
Ehrlich also commuted the life sentence of Karen Lynn Fried to 45 years, and the Maryland Parole Commission said it will grant her a hearing in a few months. She was convicted of murder in the 1978 slaying of a 13-year-old girl in a suburban Baltimore parking lot.
