(DENTON, MD) – Investigators with the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division, Upper Shore Region, arrested a Caroline County man Thursday on child pornography charges.
The suspect, Daniel Provencal, 47, of Denton, Maryland, is charged with 11 counts of distribution of child pornography, 11 counts of possession with intent to distribute child pornography and 18 counts of possession of child pornography. He is being held without bond at the Caroline County Detention Center.
The investigation stemmed from information received regarding Provencal having distributed and being in possession of child pornography through various social media outlets. Investigators obtained a search warrant for Provencal’s residence which was served on Thursday. Provencal was subsequently arrested at his residence during the serving of the search warrant.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in court.
