State Police Maryland State Police Continue Fatal Collision Investigation In Prince George’s County

(Lanham, MD) Shortly after 5:30 p.m. this evening, the Maryland State Police, College Park Barrack responded to a collision on E/B Rt. 50 prior to the Washington Beltway IS-495/95, Lanham, Prince George’s County, Maryland. Preliminary, the facts of the collision are as follows; a white 2007 Nissan Sentra became disabled and was attempted to get over onto the right shoulder. As the Nissan was traveling at a slow speed, a maroon 2014 GMC van struck the left rear of the Nissan. The van then overturned. The Nissan was occupied by two females and the van was occupied by two males. The female driver of the Nissan was critically injured at this time and was transported to the University of Maryland, Prince George’s Hospital. The names of the people involved are not being released at this.

No alcohol was detected in this collision. All occupants were wearing their seat-belts at the time of the collision. The Maryland State Police, Crash Team responded and are handling the investigation. Three lanes were closed for approximately two hours. The State Highway Administration handled the lane closures.
