(PIKESVILLE, MD) – Maryland State Police have released the identity of the person who died early this morning in a pedestrian crash on the outer loop of I-695 near the Greenspring Avenue exit in Baltimore County.
The victim, Micheli Monteia Williams, 21, of Baltimore, was pronounced deceased at Sinai Hospital just after 1 a.m. Williams was transported to the hospital by ambulance after the crash, which occurred at 12:37 a.m.
The preliminary investigation reveals that Williams was a passenger in a disabled 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser, and may have left the vehicle to walk home. Witnesses also reported to police that they saw Williams walk into the roadway where she was struck by another vehicle, reported to be a 2004 Lincoln Continental Mark Five, whose driver remained at the scene.
The Maryland State Police Crash Team is continuing its investigation into the crash. The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration assisted with the road closures following the crash. All lanes of the outer loop of I-695 were reopened by 2:30 a.m.
