(MOUNT AIRY, MD) – Maryland State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash today that left one man dead in Carroll County.
According to a preliminary investigation, the crash occurred at about 11:30 a.m. on northbound Route 27 north of Interstate 70 in Mount Airy, Maryland. Investigators believe that a GMC truck ran off the roadway and then traveled approximately 40 feet down an embankment.
The driver, who was believed to be the sole occupant of the vehicle, was declared deceased at the scene. The victim’s identification is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. No other vehicles were reported to be involved in the crash.
