Driver/passengers(s)/pedestrian: John H. Schell, Jr., 61, Baltimore County, MD
Pronounced deceased at the scene.
Narrative: Maryland State Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal motorcycle crash on the inner loop of I-695 in Baltimore County that occurred last night.
Just before 8:24 pm yesterday, troopers from the Golden Ring Barrack were dispatched for a report of a motorcycle crash on the inner loop of I-695 between North Point and Merritt Boulevard. MDOT State Highway Administration personnel responded to assist. No lanes of traffic were closed as a result of this crash.
The Maryland State Police Crash Team responded to the scene and are continuing their investigation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The preliminary investigation indicates the motorcyclist, for unknown reasons, lost control, traveled up an embankment and subsequently collided with a pole.
