State Police Maryland State Police Investigate Pedestrian Fatality On Southbound I-95

(PIKESVILLE, MD) – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal crash on southbound I-95 at the Maryland Welcome Center and Rest Area between a tractor trailer and a pedestrian. The pedestrian is deceased.

According to a preliminary investigation, the crash occurred at 2:20 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, a man walked onto the highway and was struck by a tractor trailer. Troopers from the Waterloo Barrack responded, along with emergency medical technicians and fire personnel from Howard County.

Maryland Coordinated Highways Action Response Team, along with Maryland State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, and Crash Team Investigators, along with Maryland State Police Forensics Investigators are at the scene.

All lanes on I-95 southbound at the rest stop area have now reopened. No other injuries were reported. The investigation continues.
