State Police Maryland State Police Investigating Fatal Crash In Frederick County

(FREDERICK, MD) – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred this morning in Frederick County.

Shortly after 7:35 a.m., Troopers from the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack responded to Raven Rock Road (Maryland Route 491) for a report of a crash involving a tractor-trailer. The driver, and lone occupant of the vehicle, identified as Daniel Edward Ryan, 41, of Ridgeley, West Virginia, was declared deceased at the scene by Frederick County emergency medical service personnel.

The road was closed for several hours following the crash. The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the investigation with assistance from Troopers from the Frederick Barrack and the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division. The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration assisted with the road closure.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
