State Police Maryland State Police Investigating Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash In Frederick County

(UNIONVILLE, MD) –Maryland State Police are investigating a crash between a tanker truck and a passenger vehicle in which at least one person was killed and at least two others were injured just before 1 p.m. today on Maryland Route 26 in Frederick County.

Troopers from the Frederick Barrack, along with the Maryland State Police Commercial Vehicle
Enforcement Division are among those on scene of the crash, which occurred on Liberty Road in
Unionville, Maryland. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and state police crash scene
reconstructionists have been contacted.

Route 26 is closed at this time with detours in place. Westbound traffic is detoured onto Unionville Road, then to Albaugh Road, and back to Liberty Road. Eastbound traffic is detoured onto Albaugh Road to Unionville Road and then back to Liberty Road.

The Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office has been contacted pending any possible charges in the crash following the completion of the investigation.
