State Police Maryland State Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Crash In Baltimore County

(COCKEYSVILLE, Md.) – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred this morning in Baltimore County.

At about 4:50 a.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack responded to southbound Interstate 83 south of Shawan Road for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. According to a preliminary investigation, a male for unknown reason ran out onto the road when he was struck by a tractor-trailer.

The pedestrian, whose identity is unknown at this time, was declared deceased at the scene by Baltimore County Fire Department personnel. The driver of the tractor-trailer remained at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in connection with this incident. I-83 South was closed following the crash.

The Maryland State Police Crash team is investigating this case.
