State Police Maryland State Police Investigating Single-Vehicle Fatal Crash In Prince George’s County

(COLLEGE PARK, MD) – Maryland State Police are investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred late Sunday evening in Prince George’s County.

Shortly before 11:40 p.m. Sunday, troopers from the College Park Barrack responded on a report of an overturned vehicle in the area of Baltimore Avenue (Route 1) at the Inter-County Connector (MD Route 200). According to a preliminary investigation, a 2018 Mercedes CL2 driven by Zanib Naveed, 32, of Pomona, New York was traveling east on the Inter-County Connector, attempted to take the southbound curve to Route 1, struck the curb and overturned onto the northbound lanes of Route 1.

Naveed, the lone occupant in the vehicle, was ejected as a result of the crash. She was declared deceased at the scene. No vehicles were involved. According to a preliminary investigation, alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
