(North East, MD) Maryland State Police arrested and charged a suspect with drug distribution charges after a traffic stop late Friday night in Cecil County.
Codie King, 27, of Elkton Maryland, was placed under arrest for various drug possession and drug distribution charges. King was transported to the Cecil County District Court Commissioner early Saturday morning where he was remanded to the Cecil County Detention Center and held without bond.
At approximately 11:40 PM. on Friday November 8th 2019, a trooper from the North East Barrack observed a Mitsubishi Endeavor commit a traffic violation on westbound Pulaski Highway at White Hall Road in Elkton Maryland. After conducting a traffic stop, the trooper identified the driver of the Mitsubishi as King. King admitted to the trooper that his license was suspended. After confirming King’s license was suspended, an open warrant through the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office was also located for him. Additionally, the trooper developed probable cause to search the Mitsubishi.
According to the preliminary investigation, troopers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and King. That search revealed marijuana, a digital scale and other paraphernalia, as well as 3.6 grams of crack-cocaine, 25 Amphetamine pills, 28 Clonazepan pills, and 23 strips of Suboxone.
King was arrested at the scene.
