All star cheerleading....
Anyone have any data??

Very good program. Been around for several years. I know the owners personally.

Tina, have you checked into Xtreme? I also know the owner of that gym. She's done a lot of renovations to the facility, and upgraded her staff.

It would be closer to you than Waldorf.

I heard that Jeff was closing up shop. Sorry to hear that, but it's time. :ohwell:

I absolutely agree with the "it's time" statement. I was just kinda hopeing someone else would take it over and run with it and make some much needed changes. That organization never had a chance.
I have not checked into Extreme, but may do so. I think there was some bitterness between them and the Lazers, and I don't want kiddo to feel that, ya know?
Alot of kiddo's friends are going to Superstarz, so I was wanting to check them out first.
It is a very sad day for us, I haven't even told kiddo that it is definite that shop is closed there. HOPEFULLY she will want to go somewhere else, I know one of her friends refuses, Lazers was her team. :( As much of a pain in the behind that place was for me as a parent, the kiddo loved it and that in the end is what matters.

 Jeff tried to get me in there a couple years ago. The animosity between gyms is going to be anywhere you go. Superstarz had it bad with Twisters a few years ago, yada yada yada.

And that is fine, we aren't coming from the Twisters
(I wish we were coming from/going to the Twisters)

No you don't. I heard from a very reliable source, that even though the Twisters won Worlds, all but 4 girls on F5 are failing school. :ohwell: They practice 6 days a week. :faint:

I'm a coach at Xtreme and I can tell you there is no bitterness between Xtreme and Lazers. Some of our team members came from the Lazers and it is our gym policy that we don't bring that kind of madness in our gym. I have been given dirty looks and had snide remarks made about me from the Lazers, but it's not something that we share with our kids.

Xtreme's coaches are certified in both first aide and CPR. We are also certified with NCSSE (a cheerleading safety organization). We also attend coaches conferences every year to stay on top of things. Xtreme has come a long way and well worth it.

As you know, every where you go, there is always something you're not going to like within an organization. What's more important, it's about our children and what makes them happy. So choose the one that is going to help your child excel and meet her needs in competitive cheerleading. Some organizations have better coaches in tumbling; some are better at stunting.

I wish you well in your decision in finding a team for your child.

P.S. Always explore more than one; if you can, so you make comparisons.

I am pretty sure we know each other......I think you were with Lazers when we were there the first time. I even think that you and I talked about me bringing kiddo to Extreme when you first went there. That was when kiddo and I (more I than kiddo) both needed a break and we took two years off.
If you got the feeling that I was trashing your team, I by no means meant to. Trust me, i fully intend to check out Extreme as a very possible option.

I did not take your statement as trashing our team and you and I have spoken before. I was with the Lazers for a couple of years and it was good for a little while. Like I said, there is something that we find within an organization that we don't like, but I have also found that searching for a gym can be hard and the best thing anyone can do for their child find a gym that is going to make them happy!

I must have missed the good times. Some of the PEOPLE at the lazers we fell in love with. Other than that, I have said on too many occasions to count "If there was only a better option....."

Do you know of an appropriate "Drop in and check it out" time at Extreme?
