My family has shopped here before about 4 years ago and were happy. Things have changed though, two weeks ago we purchased a not so cheap mattress set for our room and a frame for the mattress set we were giving to our daughter. We were promised delivery the following Saturday, however we were called late in the morning on Saturday to be told that the truck had broken down and the delivery would not be that day, so I offered to be home on Tuesday of the following week to wait for the delivery and was promised the delivery that day. Tuesday came and I had to call the store to be told the delivery was not coming that day, I called the main office in Frederick, MD to be told nothing could be done that day (I took leave from work!!!) and that someone would just need to be home another day!!! My husband calls the store and is told that there is a mattress set like we ordered there at the store that can't be delivered but if we want it he will call the people who really bought it and tell them theirs didn't come in!!! All the while, my 12 year old is sleeping on the floor (remember the cold temps) because we have done our part to get the uneeded bed out of the house. Finally today, Thursday, the delivery shows up with no phone call of warning so my husband has to race home so the driver (who by the way was a prize himself) doesn't take off with our mattress set again. When my husband gets home, he has to put the frame together for our daughter's bed because I guess that is not included in the "free delivery and set up" that is advertised.

We have our mattress and the frame and no one is sleeping on the floor tonight but not once has there been any inkling of an apology from the local store. My husband got one from the Frederick office and thankfully there was someone there who cares enough about ACCOMODATING the customer and not vice versa. Next time I choose to use Mattress Warehouse, I will probably drive to Waldorf or maybe even Frederick. If I choose them at all ever again.

Mattress Warehouse is a Rip Off

End of September 2008 and on doctor's orders, we purchased the highest end Sealy Posturepedic Signature queen set at Mattress Warehouse, Waldorf, Maryland store. What was delivered was defective and had the wrong box-spring! They refused to fix it but filed a "warranty claim" which meant they would send out the "mattress sheriff" to check it out. A month later, their inspector showed up and reported NOTHING WRONG WITH THE MATTRESS!!! Box spring doesn't match and one side of the bed is hard as a rock and my wife falls out of it on that side because it leans so much! The other is soft like it's supposed to be! Since they will not support their products nor their customers, the only recourse is to either challenge the credit card transaction - now 2 months old due to their stalling techniques, or take them to small claims court. It would have been so easy for them to simply lay on the mattress to see it's messed up, but this is not how they work. I now suspect they are selling counterfeit mattresses and bait customers with good ones in the stores and deliver something completely different. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CON ARTISTS.

If you are talking about the store in California, Md. next to Verizon wireless; THEY SUCK!!!!! It is a total rip off, you do not have to pay that kind of money to get a decent mattress. Go anywhere else. They have this short, dark haired guy that works there....talk about rude! He acts like he is doing you a favor by walking in his store!!!
