Dear Marylanders,

Today is the day that so many of us have been waiting for and working toward—we finally do clearly see the light at the end of that tunnel.

Effective tomorrow, we are lifting the mask mandate in the State of Maryland. Following CDC guidance, public transportation, health care settings, and schools are the only exceptions. For anyone who has not yet been vaccinated, masks are still strongly recommended in most situations. If you are fully vaccinated, you should feel free to safely resume any activities without wearing a mask indoors or outdoors.

Tomorrow, we are also lifting all capacity and distancing restrictions on all outdoor and indoor entertainment venues, conventions and other businesses, along with all remaining restrictions on both indoor and outdoor dining.

The easiest way to be protected from COVID-19 is to get vaccinated right away by scheduling an appointment, visiting one of our state mass vaccination sites, or going to your local pharmacy. Marylanders ages 12 to 15 can now receive the Pfizer vaccine at 11 of our mass vaccination sites and hundreds of other locations across the state.

As many of us take off our masks and start to put this pandemic behind us, I ask each and every one of you to please be kind to one another. You are all Maryland Strong, and I’m so proud of the people of this great state.

Sincerely,

Signature: Larry Hogan
