TOWSON, Md. - More than three decades after the death of his 5-year-old brother, a man told police he thought his mother was to blame. After a case review, she was arrested on a charge of first-degree murder.

The e-mail tip from Richard Coffman, who was 3 at the time of the slaying, discussed his mother's character and things that happened after his brother died in 1972, Baltimore County police spokesman Bill Toohey said.

The only witness was 3-years old at the time and didn't say any thing for 32 years. That is so not going to go to court. She'll walk

Oh, and there's always one (or in this case, 2)...
Christine Shouse, who lives nearby, said Coffman and her husband often looked after their young grandson.

"I hope everything works out for her," she said, "because they take such good care of that grandbaby."

A former landlord, Ruth Burnham, said she was shocked by news of the arrest and called the Coffmans "such sweet people."
