I actually agree with you about something.
Actually, Jesus never said anything mean or shocking. Just the truth, and that very often comes across as mean to those that do not want to realize themselves and their spiritual condition.
Look at the article.... it's a safe link.... thanks onel0126.... sincerely.... for starting the thread
The verse here is from Luke [a physician]:
A nobleman went off to a distant country to obtain the kingship for himself and then to return. His fellow citizens, however, despised him and sent a delegation after him to announce, “We do not want this man to be our king.” But when he returned after obtaining the kingship … [He said] “Now as for those enemies of mine who did not want me as their king, bring them here and slay them before me” (Luke 19:12,14, 27-28).
I'm a little surprised the author didn't go back to Jonah to prove his point. Jonah walked into Nineveh and said "repent or you're going to die". If someone was to say that now.... he'd be locked up as a potential terrorist. In Luke 19 Jesus said basically the same thing.... He was hung on a cross.
The difference between Jonah's story and the "noble" in Luke 19 seems to be that the people of Nineveh did repent and the millions of Jews that Jesus was talking about [prophetically] is repentance.
Oh and by the way.... I agree.... now that the Redskins have a quarterback who isn't all about himself.... they need to defend him so he can do his job....
