(LANHAM, MD) — On June 4, 2019 at 6:00 a.m., the Maryland State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division (CVED) will conduct a multi-agency commercial vehicle enforcement and inspection operation at FedEx Field. This operation coincides with the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) annual International Road Check initiative. Law enforcement agencies from Canada, Mexico and the US will inspect commercial motor vehicles with an emphasis on steering and suspension components during the 72-hour Road Check Initiative. During the FedEx Field operation, commercial vehicles will be directed from the Capital Beltway into the FedEx Field inspection location that utilizes the four parking lots for the all-day event.

Last year at the CVED operation at FedEx Field, more than 300 vehicles were inspected. Twenty-four percent of the vehicles inspected were placed out of service due to a variety of vehicle safety violations.

The CVED operation is one of the largest one-day inspection operations in North America. The Maryland State Police will be assisted by seven state, local and federal agencies during the operation.
