Megyn Kelly: Jesus and Santa were white

"On Wednesday night Megyn Kelly declared on her Fox News show that both Santa Claus and Jesus were white. Discussing a piece in Slate by Aisha Harris about a black versus white Santa, Kelly that "just because it makes you feel uncomfortable it doesn't mean it has to change."

"You know, I've given her her due. Just because it makes you feel uncomfortable doesn't mean it has to change," Kelly said. "Jesus was a white man, too. It's like we have, he's a historical figure that's a verifiable fact, as is Santa, I just want kids to know that. How do you revise it in the middle of the legacy in the story and change Santa from white to black?"

Santa Claus can be traced to a real life monk named St. Nicholas who lived in what is today Turkey, according to the History Channel. Jesus Christ was born to a Jewish family around what is now Israel, and his race has long been debated with several scholars saying he likely looked like what many modern day people of Middle Eastern descent look like.

The unusual segment, where the panelists also debated whether Santa Claus should be a penguin as Harris writes in her piece, seemed to be directly contradicting what Kelly said on Monday when she appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

"I'm a straight news anchor, I'm not one of the opinion hosts," she told Leno. "The way we do it on the Fox News Channel is the straight news anchors like us give a hard time to both sides." "

So what race IS Santa Claus?

I'm not astonished that the bloggers who despise FOX News have managed to miss the point of the segment and fixated on the very problem they're addressing. As in, why is it relevant to adjust race at all?

I've never been fond of the blond blue-eyed Jesus, but I'm not about to change his race to suit someone's fixation, just as the Buddha, who was born in India, is largely seen as Far East Asian.

Spaniards, Italians, Greeks and the different people of the Balkan states are Caucasians. And a lot of Turks are "white" because historically, Celts lived there in the past - many modern day Turks are red-headed or fair-skinned (my sister used to work at their embassy, and I got invited to parties there).

I have Arab relatives, and to the untrained eye, dressed in every day Western clothes, many could pass as Italian or Spanish.

-------------------------------------------

Actually the one portrayal of Jesus that most annoys me is making him handsome, where the Scriptures themselves tell us - he was very plain-looking. (Isaiah 53:2) If Jesus had been devastatingly handsome, it would have been an easy thing for crowds to follow him, based on appearance alone.

So you criticize Kelly for her lack of serious reporting by calling her a “blonde-headed bint with a pretty face and a pair of t!ts”?

The irony!

Comparing Kelly's academic and professional accomplishments with...just about anyone...methinks old Beacon is a bit off the farm.:coffee:

And for the record..Jesus and Santa Claus were both white folks. :howdy:

I don't know how to take your comment "yeah Christians like to forget Jesus was Jewish". Sarcasm? Or on a serious note?

If serious, what would make you think Christians "like" to forget that Jesus was Jewish? Christians , those that know Him as their Savior, are always acutely, keenly aware of who Jesus was as a man and His race/nationality, where He came from, why and how He died, and by whose hand He was murdered.

I'll agree that there are plenty of "Christians" out there that have no clue of what Christianity is and how to obtain the status of being born again into the family of God. I call them "CINO's" - Christians in name only.

I think Kelly was making the point about what difference does it make about race, and why do all the people that proclaim that race does not matter to them (liberals and people of color, especially) always have to inject race into whatever topic is at hand?

Which is precisely why I find it so peculiar that she is being criticized along the very point she's trying to make.

Agreed. I noticed your previous post and looked into the context of her comments a bit deeper. She is being criticized simply because she is white, blonde, pretty, has a great job, and CONSERVATIVE! It just kills liberals that any woman, especially successful, intelligent women, side with conservatives.

And, thankfully, there are millions of others out there as well that think like Kelly does.

her point was very clear: "it is an undisputed FACT that jesus was white".
That isn't the same as "Jesus' race doesn't matter".

Her point about santa was similar. I eencourage you to find "the Daily Show's" bit on this last night and watch it. They do a good job of blowing the whole "jesus and santa were white" argument all to shiat. I would like to it but i cant form this PC.

The reality is, who cares what color you think an imaginary being is. if you wan t your jesus/santa to be white, then so be it. That doens't mean eveyone shares that image, or that it is historically accurate.

You're ####ing kidding me.

This is why you Leftards are so stupid: you get your "facts" from a highly edited snippet in a comedy skit.

Wanna know why we make fun of you? That's why.

You know, I don't give even a smidgen of a damn about Megyn Kelly, nor do I care what color Jesus and Santa Claus :)lol:) are, but that right there is one of the dumbest effing things I've ever read. If you were in front of me and said something so ignorant I would give you a swirly and shave your head, then kick you in the ass just for good measure.

That is way ####ing dumber than anything Megyn Kelly could come up with on her best day.

the FACTS come from history, the comedy comes from comparing that history to what meghan and the rest of you tards are screaming about.

Why dont you break out the "real facts" that prove jesus and santa were white? :bigwhoop:

Nice feint but you're still a brainless moron.

And you can't read, which pretty much goes hand in hand with that brainless moron part.

It wasn't Kelly that started the issue. It was Slate. She was replying to the stupidity of it; then for good measure she mocked them by claiming Santa and Jesus are white. The fact that you and boy and your ilk don’t get that show what little humor really exists in your leftist brains.

I happen to think Jesus was of mideastern skin tone; somewhere between black and white. Hmmm... you ever think God meant it to be that way so no race-of-color could claim ownership to Him based on race?

EDIT: Santa? From the southern region of Turkey. Also probably of a tan/light-brown skin tone.

Why do we even care what color they were? Me knowing Jesus is some other color than white doesn’t change who he is; and believing he’s black doesn’t give the black community ownership to Him and that salvation is somehow reserved only to black people; as they seem to claim.

The whole debate about their color is juvenile and Kelly was trying to point that out. But, as predicted, it telegraphed right over the heads of you all-so-tolerant liberals.

Well that is NOT what Comedy Central said. They said that she just claimed straight (no offense, Midnightrider) out of the blue that Santa and Jesus were white.

Are you trying to tell me that you know more about what happened than Comedy Central???
