Memorial Day

I don't mean to start a flame war, but am I the only one that gets a little torqued because somewhere along the way, Memorial Day has become a conglomeration of Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Armed Forces Day?

No, you are not alone.

I can't stand it when someones says Happy Memorial Day.

I look back and remember all the service members that I served with that have passed on.

It was kind of cold and crappy all weekend. Looks like the crowds at Ocean City went anyway though. That used to be the thing to do on Memorial Day Weekend when I lived in Baltimore; Thrasher's French Fries, Philips for dinner, Playland, occasionally the beach.

I saw a post on FB they the bridge traffic to OC was very low.

Back in the 80's it was scoring the corner room at the beachfront hotel in Santa Cruz.

I haven't been there since 2012. Only to meet CT friends that were there visiting.

That.....the thug takeover and resulting chronic violence have really taken their toll on the city. I have a cousin who has lived on the mainland side of the bridge - West Ocean City - for about 25 years. She's seen a lot of changes and none for the better.
