The "falling asleep at the movie" sounds like some BS thing my son would have come up with because he was never good at thinking his stories through. "Really, Don? You say you and Susie fell asleep? Why didn't the manager wake you when he saw your car still at the drive-in? Oh, it was an indoor movie? And no usher came through to check? How did you get out of the theater? Did they just leave the doors unlocked when they closed up?"

:tap:

I know most of those even though they're before my time. And now my head is singing "Be bop a lula she's got rabies......"

well, there were no Karens or managers back then. Managers, were usually 23 year old college kids who ran the projector, made sure the popcorn was sold, made sure there weren't 12 kids in the trunk of Dad's Buick sedan. There were no gates to lock and the employees wouldnt DARE check out a foggy cars window to interruptus coitis.... so the song lyric is conceivable.

I'll defer to you because I was still 6 years away from being born when that song came out.

It can happen. When we woke up, as I remember, there wasn't but 2 or 3 other cars there. Her dad was asleep on the couch when she got in. For many years we laughed every time we heard that song.
