The new study, published in the February issue of the journal American Sociological Review, shows that sex isn’t a bargaining chip. Instead, sex is linked to what types of chores each spouse completes.

Couples who follow traditional gender roles around the house – wives doing the cooking, cleaning and shopping; men doing yard work, paying bills and auto maintenance – reported greater sexual frequency.

I do most of the cooking and cleaning in our house, and sex is no problem, so I call :bs:

I was joking. Obviously, I have no problem putting out. I'd absolutely love to have someone do the cooking and cleaning. I would never use sex as a bargaining chip though. But, I know plenty of women that do. Those women don't really enjoy sex though. Me, on the other hand, feel that bargaining sex is punishment to myself so I've never done it.

Women are in control just as much as men are. At any point a man could hold out for a bit and make the women want them more. But, men are too easy.

says the woman in charge ...... yes men are easy, I have never met a man that would 'withhold' marital favors, because she did not get the dishes cleaned ....

however plenty of women have withheld favors because X Chore was not completed

Yo dumbass! Only those that are willing to be controlled can be controlled. Maybe your wife needs to put out more...

I can say for a fact that this is true. :neener:

"I can say for a fact the this is wrong."

This is a "subjective" issue.
If the lovely wife feels scorned or ignored, helping with household chores can go a long way to let her know you are "AT LEAST" thinking about her.

Same thing goes for the lady making a hot bratwurst sub + cold beer for the man laying under the car in miserable weather trying to get things fixed.

I am more biased toward helping with household chores. My cousins wife got so turned on by my helping with dishes she hit on me. She was as cute as a button, but I have no regrets in not returning the attention.
This wasn't the first time I had helped with dishes while her husband "disappeared" but she probably got tired of waiting for me to hit on her.??
Human interaction can be most interesting at times.

Quote of the year :killingme

"Obviously, I have no problem putting out"

Brought back a cute memory from years ago. As a teenager , our young female(wife) neighbor was discussing the first time her and her husband did their thing. She said he rowed her out out to the middle of the lake and said "put out or get out". She than sheepishly looked at us and said " well, what was I to do, I couldn't swim"

Really, I can only see males doing these chores actually losing the sexual desire because they would be too tired to perform.

I'm sure it would work in the ladies' advantage after all.

Do men usually pay the bills? I feel like I know a lot of relationships where the females pay the bills.

And as for traditional roles I think it is what each gender (person) cares about more. I don't care that much about what the yard looks like. I pick up the dog poop so I don't step on it, but that's about it. Husband on the other hand wants lines in the fricking grass. Me-I want the house spotless, no one is allowed in unless it is presentable where as husband lets people in no matter what it looks like... "what do you mean I can't take people in the basement when your underthings are drying" :smack: He is also insists that his garage cleaning counts as doing a chore, which I insist doesn't count because I don't hang out in there so I'm not making the mess.
