Well, Mama DC has the biggest teat in the country, never hurts to give some sugar back...... part of the problem of the Big Fed. You need federal money to solve state problems because the fed takes so much from each citizen to hand back to the states after skimming off the top. Alternatively, this could be a visible piece of negotiations to help Elon Musk secure permission to tunnel into DC. State has said they are not contributing to the Boring Company's efforts on the 10 mile test tunnel, nothing was said about spending elsewhere to grease the wheels.

Huh, when did DC Metro stop servicing Maryland residents? When did Metro close all its MD subway and bus routes?

Close the system. Fire everyone from the CEO to the station custodians and start from scratch.

All you ever hear from Metro is 'mo money, need mo money'.
