My neighbor and I have been having problems with our router dropping the IP address. The fix is rebooting the router. We have phoned in a few trouble calls but no real answers.

Anyone else out there having similar problems? I trying to figure out of it is system wide or just our neck of the woods (Sandgates Area)

Thanks!

FYI Seems to be around the same time every day, like 10am or so.

Is it the router that's losing the IP address, or your connected PCs? If it's the router:
If you can get into the router, check the WAN (cable side settings, not the LAN side)) under DHCP, and see what the "lease time" is and whether or not it is set to automatically renew. If it's only set to 24 hours, change it to the highest value you can.

If it's the PC's:
open a Command window and type "ipconfig /release",then Enter, followed by "ipconfig /renew", then Enter.

That may get you around having to reboot everyday.

Thanks GWguy, this is definitely a cable modem thing, all PC's are still talking. If I go into the router and release and renew the WAN IP that works too. Just easier to grab the plug and pull it out then back in. Must be something on their side with DHCP. Maybe it has something to do with the new digital phone they are offering..
