Looking for alternatives to metrocast in Leonardtown area. Internet is off more than it's on lately and is really annoying for the amount we're paying. Suggestions?

Call metrocast and explain that to them. I had issues when we first moved here, but they fixed it.

Verizon is your other option and only of you are close enough to their hub.

:yeahthat: Metrocast has always been positively responsive whenever I had to call with service issues.

Metrocast has not always been positive when we complained but we have received better service.

We complained over and over that we weren't getting the internet speed were were paying for but they kept telling us that they were showing that we were. We took screen shots of the internet speed tests but they wouldn't accept them becuase they weren't Metrocast official internet speed tests. We were very careful to document everything after the first few calls proved unsuccessful. Finally, we complained to the FCC who then did a three-way call between us, the FCC, and Metrocast. Our issue was solved very quickly after that. We haven't had any problems for the past two years.

I have had nothing but excellent service from Metrocast. They have and probably know the inside of my second floors wall than the builder does. Chasing cables since house was wired thruout (Effected Internet but not TV). Finally found a bad cable to the office where main computer and wireless router are. They ran a fresh one to the computer room from front and cannot be seen, and no additional charges to correct it. I am a very satisfied with Metrocast. Just my opinion!

Is everyone else's Metrocast internet service out today? Mine's been out since early this morning. I called the tech support number and it said something about a service problem in Hollywood and power issues elsewhere. I also checked my account and I'm not overdue on the bill.

You might want to call and report your outage. Maybe they're working in your area somewhere.

Wish my neighborhood was as lucky as y'all are :ohwell:

We have poor service, internet is always down because the phone line is always down. They have been in our house 4-5 times since we moved in, never once has it been a house issue. They always say something was wrong at the box, and it's all good... But then a few days later, it's back to on again off again.

This happens with our entire neighborhood, and the problem is, we are in one of Verizon's 'grandfathered in zones'. (Basically, had to have them when ya moved in, our hood is too old now to get them to come set us up)

MC has told myself, and other neighbors we are on the list to get updated wiring or something or another, but we've been hearing that for a few years now.

Now granted, when it works, it's flawless, problem is, 100 bucks a month for phone and interet that only works 50% of the time sucks :ohwell:

Oh well, 1 more month and we are going to cancel. Cell phones work fine at the house, and we are just going to get a internet card for the computer.

I just called the number again and the recording now mentions my area in specific and no longer mentions Hollywood or Lexington Park. So, it would seem my problem is part of a wider outage. I'll give them some more time to get the wider problem resolved before wasting their techs' time reporting a specific outage (that they're likely to already be working toward resolving).

If I call back and my area is no longer mentioned, I'll stay on the line to give them the what-fer.
