Former AG Bill Barr says Mexican drug cartels should be wiped off the face of the Earth 'like ISIS' because they have too much money and power for courts to ever bring them to justice

Former AG Bill Barr said Mexican drug cartels should be wiped off the Earth like ISIS because they're far too rich and powerful to prosecute.

Barr, 72, sat down with Newsmax's Greta Van Susteren to discuss to Mexican drug cartels.

He likened them to terrorist groups, and said they should be treated as such, particularly as they've been blamed for inundating the US with deadly fentanyl.

'I think [the Mexicans] have to be forced and pushed into action with us,' he said. 'I think we have to more active against the cartels. In my mind, we have to approach the cartels more like ISIS and less like the mafia.'

He also said the individualized prosecution against cartels is ineffective, as they are 'effectively' acting like 'terrorist organizations.'

'And the idea of a case-by-case prosecution down there to stop these organizations would be like going after, you know, ISIS and Syria on the same basis,' he said. 'They are increasingly building their connections with terrorists. Their paramilitary can take on the Mexican military and they have so much money they can corrupt any system, the justice system in Mexico.

'Even a normal everyday murder is (in Mexico) about a four percent chance of getting caught and prosecuted. It's a dysfunctional system. So we - in my mind - the United States cannot have these cartels operating on our border, poisoning our country.'

Bill Barr certainly had his chance to do just that, didn't he?

That's all these people do - talktalk. They're all talk no action. All hat no cattle. All bust no balls. All foam no beer. All sizzle no steak.

Political sharts.

Had an article years ago that purported that MANY of our top leaders are already either in the pocket of cartels or seriously endangered by them - and thus in their pocket.

I believe that much of Mexico's government and especially local governments are completely under the thumb of drug lords and their reach is far greater than organized crime ever was in THIS country. WHY we don't team up with Mexico to simply take them out, I don't know.

What incentive would any level of the Mexican government have to take out the cartels? A very risky and messy proposition and things are pretty comfy as they are for many government officials.

Well of course we all know the problem.
Money --- When was the last time we read about the money launderers going to jail?
Don't tell me we don't know where the drugs are coming from and who is running the cartels.
Our jails are filled with the small timers in the drug business, while the big boys are laughing because they have the political side of the business bought and paid for.

Why is Biden and the Democrats letting our borders be used as a pipeline for drugs while they shut down the pipeline for oil? There must be a reason the Democrats are allowing this and it isn't because we need lettuce pickers.

If I had to guess I'd say it's the billions of dollars they funnel to our government officials who would be in charge of such an operation.
It's what I've seen. It's horrible to think about. It's horrific to think we have elected officials completely cooperating with drug cartels.

At least, if you're bought by Russia, you're trading in state secrets.
Drugs is trading in people's LIVES.

I bet if the cartels were involved in the unauthorized tour of the capital that chilly January morning in 2021, they'd all be in solitary confinement making toilet bowl hooch.

I have said often: if people are going to be stupid, someone might as well make some money off them.

So there's a part of me that gets it and kind of doesn't blame them, but I really don't get it and do blame them because that's some harsh chit right there. It's one thing to toss off a jaded comment; actually doing it is something else entirely.

To be fair, nobody forces someone to do drugs and get addicted. They choose to do that themselves. Unfortunately addiction doesn't just impact the addict, it impacts everyone around him. Not only his family, but innocent people who just happen to have the money or stuff to sell and buy drugs with.

But these politicians are visible to the naked eye. They want unfettered illegal immigration from known drug supplier countries. They cut drug dealers loose with no bail. They give cushy marijuana licenses to their cronies. So it's not like they're operating under the radar, but still we vote for them.
