Not smell *like* BO, actually get it in my nose and it won't go away.

Ate at CoCo Cantina last night, had chips/salsa, queso, and a fajita thing. Nothing stinky and I didn't eat the onions. Came home and my house stunk. So I Febreezed everything, vacuumed, sniffed around for a source, took a shower, washed my hair, sprayed Chanel on myself.....still smelled BO.

This happens almost every time I eat Mexican food, except for when I go to Salsa's. For some reason they don't get in my nose the way other places do.

Remember in the Exorcist when the little girl was smelling something burning while the demon was first taking her over? I'm somewhat concerned.....

Find out what in particular is making you smell BO. Experiment. Is it a spice, salsa, queso, etc.

I believe

It is just the combination of spices that linger the most "aromatic" are cilantro and cumin.

I have reheated taco beef and yeah that's exactly what it smelled like BO.

Oh good, so I'm not crazy. :whew:

Now that you say that, I'll bet it's the cumin. Everything else is normal stuff that I eat all the time with no olfactory disturbance, but the only time I have cumin is in Mexican food.

Go have some cumin now and get back to us, k? Just a pinch between the lip and gum.

Well, I'll just trot on down to Casa y Pewko for lunch and let them know of your apology that it's not just them...

I noticed years ago before the movie that when I eat anything with raspberries in it, I smell burning.

Another nasal lingerer I've found is a steak sub sandwich, hangs for hours.

:coffee:

It's the airborne smells, mostly onion. I get the very same thing but from Subway of all places. After I've been in there, everything smells like farts.

I had a real important job interview years ago and before I went in the building I noticed I had a rogue nose hair sticking out. I couldn’t get that sucker so I used a lighter and inhaled. I smelled burnt hair for days. I didn't get the job either. :ohwell:

Well whadjunobouddat?

I googled "cumin smells like BO" and got back a ton of hits. Apparently it is commonly understood that cumin stinks like BO and you'll smell it for days.

I learnt me somethin'. And I will never eat Mexican food again unless I personally prepare it. Ugh.
