Michelle Wants Your Pie

Sonsie

The mighty Al-Sonsie!
Michelle Obama gives us a peek at the socialist policies her and the Obamamessiah have in store for us.

Obama, like her husband a Harvard-trained lawyer, listened and then spoke off the cuff. Most Americans, she said, don't want much.

"They don't want the whole pie," she told the women. "There are some who do, but most Americans feel blessed just being able to thrive a little bit. But that is becoming even more out of reach.”

After law school, she and Barack were beset by loans they'd still be paying had her husband not written two best-sellers, "The Audacity of Hope" and "Dreams From My Father."

Those debts early in their marriage, she said, equips her husband to better understand the problems many Americans face. Should she become first lady, she said she'd focus on family issues.

"If we don't wake up as a nation with a new kind of leadership...for how we want this country to work, then we won't get universal health care," she said.

"The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more." LINK

What Michelle actually meant to say was that the government was going to have to “take” your piece of the pie. To say that someone is going to have to “give up” a piece of their pie would imply that it was voluntary. Go and bake your own pie ok?!

The pie plate emptied out here a long time ago. Hasn't this happened in every society since the dawn of man? Eventually the serfs get tired of the whole thing and heads will roll.

I heard this on the radio yesterday or the day before. Guess it's hard to suppress the socialism in the girl - Obama does a good job of it, but the wife not so much.

A guy at work (not that young, either - he's 29, single -lives at home w/ parents, I kid you not.) "can't afford" health care. Constantly complains about it.

But he just bought a new laptop computer which was about $699. I pay for my own insurance (kids are insured through their dad's Navy retirement) every month & I have a high deductible health insurance plan (1700 deduct.) along with an HSA. I pay less than $150/month for that, a prescription "discount" plan & a vision discount plan through Carefirst BC/BS. Granted, I pay as I go, I pay for my (discounted somewhat) scripts & other things. But, I didn't even pay more than $700 last year for my health care. Whenever he complains about his plight, I always talk about my plan & how I budget for it, etc. And he shuts up about it for a while. But after 2 years he still has not gotten a plan.

It is all a matter of Priorities ..... Laptops are more important than Health Care .... but Insurance Costs - you see that coming right out of your paycheck like TAXES .... laptops and Gaming Consoles you can get on Credit Cards and pay a little @ a time ....

My last job I was paying $ 695 for family insurance .... :faint:

Socialists want to take your piece of the pie to give it to folks who won't bake. Clinton said the other day, we could do so much 'collectively'. That's Russian government, sweetie, not ours.

In this government, it's getting to be a sin to be successful.

:yay: I agree that the costs are high - and for someone to say they can't "afford any" is :bs: But it is about priorities. I don't want to pay high premiums every month. I'm healthy. I did what I could to help protect myself for my kids' sake if something catastrophic happens. I have enough money in my HSA to pay the deductible tomorrow if something happens. After that, my plan goes to a 80/20 plan. If my expenses were to go up to (I think) 5,000.00, then my plan pays 100%. Hopefully, I won't have anything that catrastrophic happen, but it is attainable with my credit card (and in a year I would even have that much in my HSA, as I've only had it for 2-1/2 years) which I use (for "free" miles & credits) & pay off each month.

 But it was a choice. I choose to use my money in a fiscally responsible way.

I'm glad...

...to hear she thinks government is taking far too much money from people.

Government takes a bigger piece of the pie than the oil companies and gas stations.

Government takes a bigger piece than charity.

Government takes a bigger piece than ones faith receives.

Government takes a bigger piece than folks grocery bill.

Government; doing with less so that others may prosper some.

With hospital costs as high as they are, $5,000 is easily reached. A four day hospital stay cost over $10,000. Dialysis is $1,100 per session (usually 3 per week). Somebody is making a killing.

Doesnt it make you feel horrible that Obama and his poor downtrodden wife had these large student loans to pay?

Now lets see , she went to Princeton right? He went to Yale and Columbia?

Let me ask this since I dont have a college education.
Arent there a few colleges out there a little cheaper to attend than these? I mean when you go to the most prestigious colleges in the nation isnt that a little on the expensive side? Couldnt they have selected a college a little bit less expensive and gotten an education?

I feel really bad for them that they couldnt have gotten into a Community college and saved a little. They are black couldnt they have enrolled in Howard?

I shop at Walmart because I cant afford to shop at the higher priced stores, I buy my clothes off the rack, I drive a Toyota, I live within my means.

When I travel I stay at the Days Inn, not the Waldorf Astoria.

Stop pissing and moaning about your high priced college education you dipstick, You picked the college , not me. Obama and his wife are like the Kennedy's . They want to help the poor by spending MY money, not theirs.

I have to heat my home with overpriced fuel, drive my car with overpriced gas, pay too much for my own health care. St. Mary's County tax assesser jacks up my taxes, MoM takes more and more in state taxes, Smeco goes up every year, the phone company gives me bad service at high prices,Food is skyrocketing, my dollar is near worthless, and this woman and her dipstick husband living in a million dollar mansion and eating plenty of pie from the looks of her wants to take another slice of mine .

She and Obama can kiss my azz.

Ditto.Yep.
Yet she bemoans the fact that she felt "out of place" at Princeton. I suppose if you go to a school where the racism is hidden beneath a liberal veneer, and continue to voluntarily take hits, then you get what you pay for.

Right, and at least I know I'm covered if it gets to that point, though.
