Michigan has more registered voters than eligible voters

About half a MILLION.

So - what do we do about this?

I think you should have to re-register every cycle. I'd bet good money that my in-laws are still registered to vote in Maryland - and they're dead - and my parents are still registered - and they moved away - and are dead.

My wife's ex-husband still gets a sample ballot here and he hasn't lived in Maryland in over twenty years. Maybe he's still registered, maybe not. But someone over there still thinks he LIVES here.

...I guess each state is different.

My MIL passed away on Sep. 9th, 2024. She was 103 years old.

We received a letter from the Montgomery County Ohio Board of Elections this pass Monday. It stated that they were notified of her death (I guess when we requested copies of her death certificate they alerted them) and she was removed from the voters roll.

Pretty quick.... Damn, I missed my chance to send in her mail in ballot like they did for Carter in Georgia.

They should fix their voter rolls, but really matters is actual votes. Right? This indicates years or even decades of not clearing off intelligible voters. If they actually vote in excess of 8M votes, then they have actual fraud.

Ooh, I can I vote for them?

One would think states would clean up their voting rolls regularly. People move. They die. For whatever reason they're ineligible to vote in that state and should be removed.

Federal government should remove them from this election.

In MD, sure you can, no drivers license needed.
Much less a certified one.

Here’s the problem - even in good years, it’s unusual to get more than 65% turnout. You can EASILY add a few hundred thousand fake votes, and just relying on looking at totals tells you nothing. You have to verify each vote.

Requiring voters to re-register each time makes this much easier.
