I have my own back up copy...luckily because my original got a label-side scratch. It works just fine...for Office XP anyway...student/teacher edition. Plus I added a thing that automatically puts the key in the field when it asks. Besides, as long as you own the software it't not illegal for you to download it from the internet for backup. Otherwise I don't know what the problem is.

I have Office 97, Office 2000 OEM, Office 2000 Pro OEM, Office 2000 SP4 Oem, and Office 2003. So, why is a State Board of Education licensed Office 2007 not working when all of the above do work?

It's '07 I'm having issues with, and M$ wants $50 for tech support! :smack:

I hope I don't have these kind of issues when I decide to upgrade to Vista.

Did you activate Ofiice 2007. I have it as well and when installing, I had the enter the 16 digit key. After installation it still had to be activate via the Internet. This is how Microsoft makes sure folks aren't running Office 07 on multiple computers.

I do notice that most of the software you listed were OEM versions anyways; unless they were pirated or the serials were discovered on the internet somewhere. Office 2007 is a bit more paranoid about particular serials as they're not allowed to run on multiple machines (much like the most recent Windows versions [vista/xp]). What problem are you having, exactly? Will it not accept the serial, not installing, what?
